Fix Sideways Scanned PDF Pages in Seconds
Phone scans often land upside down or rotated 90°. Learn how to rotate PDF pages online so every page reads the right way up.
A stack of receipts or homework photographed on a phone rarely lands perfectly upright. Readers should not have to tilt their heads. Rotating pages in the browser is faster than rescanning, and it prepares the file for OCR or signing later.
Rotate the pages that are wrong
Use Rotate PDF when a few pages need a 90° or 180° turn. Apply the same rotation to every page if the whole scan was shot in landscape, or fix pages one by one when only some are sideways.
Reorder after you rotate
If pages are also out of sequence, follow up with Organize PDF. Rotation fixes orientation; organize fixes reading order. Doing both keeps long scans usable for clients and classmates.
Run OCR after pages are upright
OCR works better on upright text. If you plan to search or translate the scan, rotate first, then run OCR PDF so the text layer matches what you see on screen.
Step-by-step
- Upload the scanned PDF to Rotate PDF.
- Pick 90°, 180°, or 270° for the pages that need it.
- Download the upright file.
- Optional: organize pages or run OCR next.
FAQ
Can I rotate only one page?
Yes. Most rotate tools let you target specific pages or apply one angle to the whole document.
Does rotation change file size much?
Usually not. Rotation changes page orientation metadata and content transform, not image resolution.
